The beginning of-operations at Na Kika marked the successful culmination of a nearly two-decade journey for partners BP and Shell and their many contractors. The production of first hydrocarbons in November 2003 shifted responsibility for the development from pre-production operator Shell to post-production operator BR, Much like the design, drilling and construction of this Gulf of Mexico behemoth, the transition to a full up and running facility required unparalleled foresight planning and training.
