New challenges for the journal--milestones passed and those ahead.

It is now a little over six years since the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand and the Australasian Society of Cardiac and Thoracic Surgeons agreed to jointly support the development of Heart Lung and Circulation as a flagship for publication of research and clinical updates in the fields of cardiovascular medicine and surgery in Australia and New Zealand. The Journal identified particular areas of interest in novel device and interventional therapies, cardiac imaging and Indigenous cardiovascular health as part of its mission.
