It's helpful for practitioners and educators in our field to learn about the standards that are most frequently identified as "not compliant" by the Joint Commission. This article describes the most challenging standards found from January through December of 2004 during surveys in hospitals (Hosp), ambulatory care (Amb), long-term care (LTG), Medicare/Medicaid certification-based long-term care (MLTG), assisted-living facilities, behavioral health care (Beh), and home care (Home).
