摘要

The studies reported here are published together to illustrate that although it is common to study issues of health, and health practices among women in a particular subculture in only one country, it is nevertheless possible to address an international, interdisciplinary audience of scholars and practitioners so that these studies are globally relevant. Like other scholarly journals, we require that the articles published in our journal contribute something new to the literature. We require that all authors who publish in this journal must produce a theoretical, substantive (evidence-based), methodological or practice contribution or some combination of theory, substance, methods or practice, while simultaneously addressing a diverse audience of scholars who are unlikely to be familiar with the context of their research or the social characteristics of their research participants.
