This study aims to construct a new three hierarchical expert group decision evaluation model for assessing sustainable community in Miaoli city of Taiwan. Based on field survey, the Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP) analysis technique has been applied for multivariable parameters between interacting natural resource and local residences. An empirical study was conducted to examine the FAHP of management evaluation model to effectively promote the quality of decision making that can be referenced for further related community development researches. Results show that ten middle level dimensions can be deduced from upper level hierarchical. These four dimensions and associated benchmarks are: (1) ecological preservation and energy: green preservation, environmental load quantity, environmental management and energy use; (2) living security and transportation: living environmental, community security, and traffic transportation; and (3) social welfare and economy: social welfare, economy; and (4) community ideology and participation. The four dimensions expressed by our expert group questionnaire data in the Datong community of Miaoli city can be ranked and weighted collectively for 36.85%, 30.79%, 16.26% and 15.40% for the four aforementioned dimensions, respectively. The method may be helpful to decision-maker for sustainable community.
