Openness about layer chicks

Dutch hatchery Ter Heerdt'hens and chicks' has a first; delivering day-old layer chicks with a so called chick passport. This passport contains a variety of useful information for good rearing.Achick passport has been com mon for Dutch broilers for the last three years - and in some broiler hatcheries evenlonger. However, in the layer sector it is still unprecedented. Ter Heerdt in the Dutch town Babberich, has a premiere; in June the hatchery delivered the first flock of layer chicks with a chick passport. With this chick passport Ter Heerdt provides therearing farm/poultry farmer with all necessary information to successfully rear the chicks to productive laying hens.
