Evaluation of noise levels in urban environment in Greece

Nowadays, the concern about the noise pollution in Greece is considerable important. Environment noise levels vary over time and space, due to the diversity of traffic and site conditions, the population density, the degree of development and the activities occurring in this measured place. In this paper, the results of a study on the environmental noise pollution of the city of Volos in Greece are presented. More specific, the results of the comparison between the noise levels in a normal day and the noise levels in a day "without car" are presented. It is also mentioned the difference between the noise levels between these measurements and contemporary measurements at the same place (2000-2006).
