Two redundant pumps handle high solids fly ash slurry

The transfer of approximately 75% high solids fly ash slurry through a 1.5-mile long pipeline posed UK engineering consultants Golder Engineering with the problem of finding a reliable pump. With environmental protection as a priority, the engineering consultants were retained to find a pump that could manage both the flow and high pressure required, while enduring the high abrasion and yet limiting expensive downtime and maintenance. Two Abel redundant pumps matched their brief.
