Soldier Field tackles storm water problem during recent facelift

US firm Metropolitan Industries Inc played a major role in developing and installing a storm water handling system at Soldier Field stadium, situated on the shore of Lake Michigan. Here, Paul Larson P.E. and Joseph Sanchez from the company, which is based in Romeoville, Illinois, provide details of the system that removes rainwater run-off from the field and stadium, boosts domestic water to the entire building and helps to keep it cool. In all its glory and stature, Soldier Field is among the most popular and famous football stadiums in the country. Sitting off the shores of Lake Michigan (Figure 1) since 1924, it remains an imposing presence that has entertained families for generations.
