Feeding systems: evolution over the years

Feed costs account for about seventy percent of total of poultry production costs. A good reason for efficient feeding. When choosing a feeding system, several technical and economic issues should be taken into consideration. Many different types andbrands of feed distribution systems have been developed over the years. These can generally be split into 3 groups, depending on how feed is physically transported; by drag chain, disk attached to a cable/chain disk or (flex) auger. Although differencesbetween brands are important, before making a choice, it must be determined which type of feeder system suits the prevailing conditions best.
