The establishment of Vattenfall Europe represents the most complex merger on the German energy market in the last few years.The four companies BEWAG,HEW,VEAG and LAUBAG moved closer in this process and are today forming a modern energy group.In eastern Germany,Vattenfall Europe Mining & Generation is the largest economic Company and at the same time the largest private investor,vocational training centre and employer (Figure 1).
