Epoxy coatings comprised 63% of the European floor coatings market in 2003,followed by polyurethanes (25%);however advances in polyurethane technology have led to increased usage in this field.The price and availability of petroleum are also factors affecting the use of epoxy coatings.It is considered advantageous to use materials based on renewable resources,such as castor oil polyols (COPO) in polyurethanes.
