Unsaturated polyesters are commonly used for decorative and protective coatings on wood, for imitating wood substrates, metal or plastic substrates.The radiation curable systems generally contain styrene as a low molecular weight copolymerisable monomer. Additionally paraffin is often used as a drying accelerator to prevent problems associated with atmospheric oxygen.
