The author,R D Sudduth,has developed a new generalised viscosity/modulus model through a series of papers (in the early 1990s) that separated the effects of particle size and particle size distribution on die viscosity and modulus of particulate composites,relevant to coatings and paints.This model found that the packing fraction depended on the ratio of the 5* moment and first moment average particle sizes and when this ratio passed through a maximum,die viscosity passed through a minimum.
