Non-aqueous, liquid coating compositions

It is possible to achieve higher solids coatings based on hydroxy-functional binders and a crosslinking agent for hydroxy-functional binders, when a specific kind of hydroxy-functional polyurethane resin is used as the only hydroxy-functional binder. A combination of favourable sagging properties (even at elevated temperatures) and improved mechanical properties such as stone chip resistance and scratch resistance can be obtained. Even when free polyisocyanates are used as crosslinking agents, longer pot and processing lives than expected are found.
