摘要

It is well-known that alkali-swelling increases with increasing acid content of carboxylated latex particles and the hydrophilicity of the polymer backbone,while it decreases with increasing Backbone Tg and crosslink density.So lightly carboxylated latex particles of high Tg polymers would not swell on neutralisation at ambient temperature,but would swell if the temperature was raised close to the polymer Tg.
