Effect of applied nitrogen and row spacing on growth, yield and quality of onion under arid environment

An experiment was conducted during rabi season of 2002-03 to investigate the effect of nitrogen and row spacing on growth, yield and quality of onion cv. N-53 at Research Farm of Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner. Application of 150 kg nitrogen/ha and row spacing 15 cm produced maximum growth, yield, quality attributes and B : C ratio out of five levels of nitrogen viz., 0, 50, 100, 150 and 200 kg/ha and three levels of row spacing 10, 15 and 20 cm.
