Uniform peach seedlings were raised in earthen pots filled thoroughly sterilized 1:2:1 Sand:Soil: FYM. Roots of seedling were thoroughly dipped into Azotobacter culture dissolved in 200ml water+50g gur slurry. Different levels of nitrogen used were 0,100, and 300 mg N per kg soil. The observation recorded after 270 days of planting, reveals that plant growth increased significantly with inoculation of Azotobacter strains as compared to uninoculated control. Among Azotobacter strains, A-41 was superior to MAC-27. Similarly, nutrient uptake was significantly increased with inoculation but Azotobacter strain A-41 showed highest increased in nutrient up take mainly due to more dry matter production than strain MAC-41 and uninoculated control.
