This past winter proved to many dealers a consumer's, memory of the previous winter is the best promotion for snow removal equipment. It also showed just how unpredictable the weather can be. Thanks to fears of a repeat performance of a snow-filled '93/94 (17 storms in the Northeast), the industry's overall snow equipment sales boomed in '94/95. A phenomenal preseason -- especially in population centers in Northeastern states --deserves much of the credit, although timely snow-Mis in the Midwest also played a role.
