Save energy and dollars with Airlift Technology

The Freshwater Fisheries Society of British Columbia (FFSBC) in western Canada has been working closely with BC Hydro, British Columbia's public electrical utility corporation, to help reduce energy consumption and costs in its fish culture activities. Benefits include reduced annual and long-term operating and maintenance costs and reduced impacts on the environment. BC Hydro has funded a number of detailed energy studies, provided technical support to FFSBC staff and also provided significant financial incentives to help fund certain capital upgrade projects. Many energy utilities in other parts of the world provide similar energy reduction benefits to their customers so hatchery operators should discuss potential opportunities with their energy providers.
