our types of lamps are typically used in aquaculture: incandescent, halogen, metal halide and fluorescent. Each offers different lumen output figures, lumen depreciation curves, and each produce light in different areas of the light spectrum. I.A.S. Products Ltd. has focused its attention on metal halide and fluorescent lamps. Metal halide lamps hold the edge on maximum lumen output (efficacy), but newly developed fluorescent lamps have the best lumen- depreciation curves, and very impressive lumen output levels, and much lower power consumption levels . Furthermore, many of these new-age fluorescent lamps can be dimmed to just 5% of their rated output, and switched on and off at this 5% level.
