TransCanada sees delays, cost increases for Keystone XL.

The Canadian pipeline firm expects a decision on its proposed Keystone XL pipeline extension to be delayed to mid- to late 2011, due to "a heightened political environment and opposition to the project." The 1.9K-mile (3K-km), 500K-b/d pipeline extension would deliver diluted bitumen (dilbit) from Alberta, Canada to refineries on the US Gulf Coast. TransCanada had previously expected a decision on the project by the middle of the year.
