According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), oil markets have been massively oversupplied, and remain so despite the fact that crude prices have recovered somewhat from the lows hit at the beginning of 2015. That recovery is unlikely to persist, the agency said in its July report. "The market's ability to absorb that oversupply is unlikely to last," it said. "Onshore storage space is limited. So is the tanker fleet. New refineries to not get built every day. Something has to give."
