摘要

Sources say that the US midstream firm has transformed itself in recent years, spending more than $3.5B on acquisitions since 2010 and expanding to become a key player in the business, especially on me US East Coast and in the Caribbean. Increasingly, however, Buckeye Partners has become exposed to US policy decisions on every front. Just recently on Sept. 16, for example, the company closed an $860MM transaction to buy 80% of Trafigura's crude and condensate terminal in Corpus Christi, Texas, a move that sources described as a bet on future crude exports from the Gulf Coast. The company is said to be one of only a handful of midstream firms affected by all of the energy debates ongoing in Washington, including concerns over crude-by-rail, the Jones Act, and the crude export ban.
