Shell expects production at Qatar GTL plant to begin soon.

Royal Dutch Shell's $19B Pearl gas-to-liquids (GTL) complex located in Ras Laffan Industrial City, Qatar began ramping up operations in June and has already sold its first commercial shipment of GTLGasoil. The plant is expected to reach full capacity in 1Q 2012. Pearl, which is a j.v. with Qatar Petroleum, will produce 1.6B scf/d of gas from the North Field in Qatar.
