Mexico Wants More LNG, Less US Gas

As gas demand continues to grow in Mexico, concern is mounting that production, while increasing, may not keep up with demand. An energy reform pro-posal approved last week by the country' s senate could help boost supply by giving state Pemex more funds to invest in exploration and production and to build up its gas pipeline infrastructure to reduce flaring. But as things stand, Mexico looks set to increase imports, preferring what's seen as more secure LNG supply to US pipeline gas.
