Prices for middle distillates such as diesel and heating oil are at whopping premiums to gasoline these days. This, combined with the discount in the price of natural gas relative to crude oil in many consuming regions, would suggest that developers might be dusting off moribund natural gas-to-liquids (GTL) projects (WGI Nov.7,p1). Indeed, hints of a GTL revival have been heard recently from Qatar, Nigeria and Australia.
