HORIZON Corruption Allegations Fly as Pakistan Tries to Boost LNG Supply

Pakistan hopes to boost its regasification capacity sixfold to 2.5 billion cubic feet per day (18 million tons of LNG per year) as stagnating domestic production lags well behind demand. Much is supposed to be up and running before general elections in 2018. But producers and traders are skeptical, despite their eagerness to supply an expanding market: They predict the plans could be undermined by corruption allegations, lack of proper planning and price uncertainty (WGI Dec.23' 15).
