摘要

With more than one-third of the EU's 28 member states operating or considering some form of capacity mechanism to ensure they can keep the lights on in future, the European Commission last week launched a state aid investigation to see whether the national mechanisms will ensure sufficient electricity supply without distorting competition or trade in the EU Single Market. The enquiry, the first under state aid rules, will initially request information from 11 countries that have introduced or are considering capacity mechanisms - Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Spain and Sweden.
