Mozambique Heads for Key Milestones on Parallel Paths to LNG

Mozambique's LNG projects are moving towards critical milestones, with a final investment decision (FID) due by the end of this year on both US Anadarko's first two onshore liquefaction trains and Italian Eni's initial floating LNG (FLNG) project. As FIDs loom, teams from both joint ventures are out selling their LNG on preliminary contracts, mainly targeting high-priced Asian markets — Japan and South Korea in particular — and signing multiple heads of agreement (HOAs) with undisclosed buyers.
