Gazprom and Italy's ENI signed what they termed a"broad strategic agreement"in Moscow on Tuesday,extending through Russian gas supply contracts,to upstream and LNG cooperation.It follows another attempt last week by Gazprom to explain to potential foreign investors its goals for gaining a foothold in key overseas downstream markets through swap arrangements that would give international firms a position in upstream Russian gas.
