The Appeals Court in London has rejected a local group's request for a judicial review into planning consents given to two big UK LNG import terminals already under construction at Milford Haven in Wales.Had the appeal succeeded,work already underway on 30.5 billion cubic meters (22.1 million tons) per year of LNG import capacity might have been suspended:the 21.5 Bcm/yr (15.6 million ton/yr) South Hook LNG terminal that Qatar Petroleum (QP) and Exxon Mobil are building,with half of the capacity due to open in late 2007;and 9 Bcm/yr Dragon LNG,a joint venture of BG Group,Petroplus unit 4Gas and Malaysian state Petronas,where the first 6 Bcm/yr is also due to enter service late next year (WGI Feb.15,p1).
