Indonesia is looking to renegotiate the price for LNG sold by the BP-led Tangguh project to China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC), in order to prop up a state budget under pressure from the high cost of the oil the country now imports on a net basis. But relief is unlikely before mid-2013, as Indonesia is relying on a provision of the contract that allows for a price review four years after project startup. First deliveries from Tangguh Train 1 were in July, 2009 (WGI Aug.19'09,p5).
