Some extreme winter forecasts for parts of Europe have garnered attention within the industry, as it prepares for the onset of cold temperatures and peak seasonal demand.The preliminary forecast that has created the biggest stir among bloggers is from Poland's Fobos weather center. It suggests that the coming winter could be the coldest Europe has seen in 1,000 years, due to an alleged slowing by nearly half in the speed of the Gulf Stream.
