Work is finally under way on developing Turkmenistan's mammoth Osman-South Yolotan field, the world's largest onshore gas reservoir with estimated reserves of up to 16 trillion cubic meters (565 trillion cubic feet).If all goes to plan, South Yolotan will be producing 30 billion cubic meters per year (2.9 billion cubic feet per day) within three to five years, pushing Turkmenistan's overall gas output beyond the 100 Bcm/yr mark (WGI Dec.23,p2).
