RWE Buying Essent

German power group RWE has struck a EUR9.3 billion (12.4 billion) deal to acquire Dutch utility Essent. The all-cash offer, to be funded by RWE's new EUR9 billion credit facility and its existing cash flow, expands the German firm's customer base by 5.3 million accounts.
