Amid competition from Russia and allies of the US to develop competing pipeline routes for Caspian gas to Europe,acting Iranian Oil Minister Gholamhossein Nozari signed deals with Turkish Energy Minister Helmy Guler during his visit to Tehran last week that are aimed at firming up an earlier memorandum of understanding(MOU)for an upstream deal at South Pars(WGI Aug.l5,pl).Other gas and LNG are also being trumpeted by Tehran.However,Iran's political isolation may make financing difficult.
