Exxon Mobil appears to be under increasing pressure to send gas from its Sakhalin-1 development on the Russian Pacific shelf for liquefying at the facilities being constructed by the competing Sakhalin-2 LNG project led by Royal Dutch Shell - although the US major is heartily resisting.Sakhalin Governor Ivan Malakhov said last week that the plan is currently under debate inside Russia,adding that Sakhalin-1 will not ultimately produce enough gas for pipeline supply to China.
