Spot LNG prices in Northeast Asia have risen for the fourth week in a row, firming 25¢ to $8 per million Btu. The scant availability of August volumes has hoisted prompt price expectations, with traders looking to emerging September deals for forward price direction, according to WG1 assess- ments for LNG cargoes for delivery four to eight weeks ahead. Spot prices in Southwest Europe were assessed 10¢ higher at $6.80, Sifted by hot weather. The UK National Balancing Point (NBP) day-ahead price assessed by WGI dropped 9¢ to $6.83, while August NBP futures dropped 6¢ to $6.72/MMBtu. Netbacks for Mideast sellers in Asia were $ 1.21 higher than in Southwest Europe, while UK/Belgian netbacks for Mideast sellers were $ 1.30 lower than in Asia.
