Politics, Funding Bedevil Mideast Nuclear Power Plans

Citing limited natural gas supplies and the high cost of burning liquids for power generation, a number of Middle East governments have unveiled plans to build nuclear power stations in recent years. Internal politics, financing problems and post-Fukushima wariness have combined to arrest progress in Jordan and Kuwait, but the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia still appear to be moving ahead, although the UAE is the only one to have actually started work.
