The huge gap between natural gas prices in the US and those in the rest of the world won't narrow much, if at all, this year, judging by latest forecasts from analysts canvassed by Energy Intelligence. Surging US shale gas output has forced down domestic prices by about 60% over the past five years, with Henry Hub prices now around $3.50 per million Btu, leaving shale gas producers struggling to make money, and galvanizing the push to capture more profit by exporting the gas as LNG.
