In the mid-1990s, Harmony was the first South African gold company to break out of the mining house mould. Since that time its managements has never been afraid to challenge conventional thinking; to question established practices, and to shift traditional management mindsets in an effort to create value for shareholders. It holds a number of other notable firsts. It was the first company to beneficiates its gold through its own independent refinery. It was the first gold producer to engage successfully in a fully commercial way with Black mining and investment groups. And now…the first company to include a comic with its Annual Report!
