Two new designs of Polar pelagic doors are showing promising results, greater spreading force and, equally important, reduced resitance. The new design is similar to the Jupiter and Mars pelagic doors but with double compartment as the doors' main body to generate greater spreading power. The design was tested in SINTEF's flume tank in Hirtshals achieving one of the highest Cl measured, but more importantly, with very low resistance at the desired angle of attack.
