Eutypa dieback is a difficult disease to control and even more difficult to detect. However, new research may provide a solution for the future. Eutypa dieback occurs on an international level: It is present in virtually every region in the world andin most varieties of grapes. It is the most common canker disease in California, and the chemicals usually used for grape disease management do not affect it.
