IN 1965, H. Brooks of USDA crossed Goldspur by Redspur and produced a number of relatively dwarf hybrids. Although they have no immediate application for the commercial fruit grower, the good news is that they do have great potential as breeding material. The introduced germplasm material may serve as the starting point for the development of commercially useful dwarf trees.
