Four U.S. senators in late December wrote the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to express their concerns about agency actions related to regulation of hydraulic fracturing. Specifically, Sens. James Inhofe (R-Okla.), Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), John Fioeven (R-N.D.), and Mary Landrieu (D-La.), queried EPA over its intention to regulate hydraulic fracturing under the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) when diesel fuel is used.
