Non-lead PVC stabilizers for U. S. wire and cable applications

The performance and price gap between calcium zinc stabilizers and stabilizer based on lead has narrowed dramatically over the past 5 to 10 years. In many general purpose jacketing applications, calcium zinc stabilizer systems like Therm-Chek RC 376P and Therm-Chek RC 377P can cost effectively replace tribasic lead sulfate. In THWN applications, Therm-Chek 215 stabilized formulations have UL approvals and have demonstrated that lead can be replaced in these applications.
