Pirelli increases fiber count in ribbon distribution cable

Pirelli Communications Cables and Systems, Lexington, South Carolina, USA, announced that it has developed an advanced premises ribbon distribution cable with 576 optical fibers, which it said offers twice the capacity of its previously available RILT~(TM) (Ribbon-In-Loose-Tube) cable for indoor fiber distribution applications. The company's premises ribbon distribution cables, such as its new 576-fiber design, provide economical and efficient transition of high-fiber-count outside plant ribbon cable from the splice vault into the cable user's communications center, a company release stated.
