摘要

A sequence of experiments provides indications at to how and when delamination occurs in torsion.Cold-worked high carbon steel wire is one of the strongest materials among commercially available steels. In recent years, the demand for ultra-high strength steel wire has intensified due to increasing concerns about saving energy. One of the largest obstacles in upscaling strength is delamination, a type of fracture characterized by a longitudinal split and a serrate drop in a torque-strain curve in torsion.
