摘要

Acid pickling is the most widely used process for the cleaning of metal in the wire and rod industry. However, the environmental hazards and expenses of disposal of acid present a need for environmentally friendly technologies. The footprint required for acid cleaning tanks as well as acid storage use and disposal equipment is large. Additionally, the steel wire industry keeps an inventory of raw material for three to five months, which can amount to as much as 6% of its material cost for production.
